BOATER 100: Boating Basics Online Course (BB) – San Diego, CA

Boater U’s Boating Basics course is an approved safe boating course for obtaining your California Boater Card.

On January 1, 2018, California requires all California boaters to carry the California Boater Card while operating a recreational motorized vessel as proof that the boater has successfully completed a safe boating course and passed the required NASBLA/state-approved boater safety education examination. Completion of Boater 100 provides boating basics and fundamentals to acquire the California Boater Card.

The California Boater Card is required for all recreational power boaters under the age of 35, as of January 1, 2020 and under the age of 40 beginning January 1, 2021.  The minimum age will increase until January 1, 2025 at which time all recreational boaters, regardless of age are required to complete an approved safe boating course.
