BOATER 201: Outboard Motor Operations & Maintenance (OMOM) – San Diego, CA

Do you want to learn to maintain and repair your boat’s outboard motors? Our outboard motor maintenance course held in San Diego will give you the skills you need.

This course is designed to benefit recreational and professional mariners who operate vessels with two-stroke and four-stroke outboard motors.

The course covers outboard motors in general and is not brand specific. Students will learn the unique characteristics of and differences between two-stroke and four-stroke motors.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand, troubleshoot and perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs to their motors.

The course format is a combination of lecture and hands-on instruction. Students will disassemble and reassemble real motors that offer visual access to the inner workings and allow the students to make the transition from a theoretical to a practical understanding of outboard motor operation and maintenance.
